TTC transit time

When you’re in a new country, you automatically think “How do I get around in this unknown part of the world?” that was exactly how most of us felt. But don’t worry, let us walk you through it.

The first thing you have to do is get a PRESTO Card you can buy it from any Shoppers Drug Mart store around Toronto or any subway station for only $4! All you have to do is reload your card and you are good to go. You can even use the PRESTO Card for bus rides or even the streetcars. It can also be used for these transits

  • Brampton Transit.

  • Burlington Transit.

  • Durham Region Transit (DRT)

  • GO Transit.

  • Hamilton Street Railway (HSR)

  • MiWay.

  • Oakville Transit.

  • OC Transpo.

It only costs $3.35 per transit but we know, it’s a lot, especially if you’re thinking about using it for the whole day to different places. That’s why with the PRESTO Card you are entitled to 2 hours of free transit!

Otherwise, if you are staying in Toronto for a while, you might want to consider getting a monthly pass. All you have to do is go to Shoppers, show them your student ID and you can get a post-secondary monthly pass for only $128.15. Think about how much money you can save!

If you are not familiar with the TTC subway, bus, and street car routes, bring along a route map. It is placed in all subways, buses, and street cars.

Also before we forget, always remember to check for closures on the TTC especially on weekends. You can check TTC's website at https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0
